IGAD Achieves Changes in Ensuring Peace, Security –


Addis Ababa, December 9, 2022 (Walta) – The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, announced that the region is achieving changes in ensuring peace and security.

IGAD 2023 Budget Meeting with the IGAD Member State Ministerial Expert and Committee of Ambassadors kicked off in Bishoftu, Ethiopia.

At the Meeting, IGAD reviewed its 2022 performance, and stated its budget plan of 86.9 million dollars for 2023.

The Executive Secretary, Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, said that IGAD should develop its financial capacity for the implementation of the agreements reached in the region.

The peace agreements reached between the Ethiopian government and the TPLF as well as between civilian political forces and the military institution in Sudan have been mentioned as a sign for ensuring peace and security.
