Haramaya University Establishes Public Diplomacy Center –


Addis Ababa, May 13, 2022(Walta) – Haramaya University has established a Public Diplomacy Center, becoming the 6th Higher Education institute to form such a center.

Attending the launching ceremony, Ambassador Dina Mufti stressed that higher education institutions in Ethiopia should play a critical role in supporting the country’s diplomatic activities.

The higher education institutions could boost Ethiopia’s diplomacy with inputs being cognizant of the current situation of the country and the national interests, he added.

Appreciating the academic community for its critical role in shaping Ethiopian youth, Ambassador Dina expressed confidence to see quality research outputs befitting the challenges of Ethiopia’s diplomacy.

The universities of Wolayeta Sodo, Bonga, Hawassa, Arba Minch, and Gonder have already established similar Public Diplomacy Centers to augment Ethiopia’s diplomacy with research and various academic activities.
