Ethiopian Mayors Exchange Experiences with Counterparts in South Africa –

Addis Ababa, May 12, 2022 (Walta) – Some mayors of Ethiopian cities and representatives of the Ethiopian Cities Association paid a visit to South African counterparts and various government agencies.

The visit provided opportunities to share experiences and further build the capacity of the cities in various sectors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

The mayors of Hawassa, Adama, Debremarqos, Jigjiga, and Yirgalem have participated in the visit to South African cities.

The mayors have also conferred with the diplomats of the Ethiopian Embassy in Pretoria to work closely in support of the capacity-building initiatives of Ethiopian cities.

“The visit was made possible under the auspices of the Ethiopian Cities Association (ECA), an alliance of Ethiopian cities working towards improving the living conditions of the urban Ethiopian population,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
