Ethiopia, Somalia Agree to Enhance Strong Partnership –

Addis Ababa, November 25, 2022 (Walta) – Ethiopia and Somalia have agreed to enhance the deeper bilateral and multilateral partnership.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen met his Somali counterpart Saleh Ahmed Jama on the sidelines of the ongoing AU Extra-Ordinary Summit in Naimey, Niger on Thursday.

The two Deputy Prime Ministers have agreed to forge deeper bilateral and multilateral partnership.

Both sides have also agreed to hold joint ministerial commission as early as possible, according to MoFA.

During the occasion, the Somali DPM said peace in Ethiopia has multiplier effect to Somalia and beyond.

He also commended Ethiopia for its critical role in the fight against terrorism.

Demeke for his part noted that Ethiopia is prepared to share its best experience in different sectors to Somalia.
