DPM Demeke Meets with Special Envoy Mike Hammer –

Addis Ababa, October 14/2022 (Walta) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia Demeke Mekonen met with US Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Mike Hammer, in his office.

During the discussion, Demeke reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the northern part of the country.

For his part, Mike Hammer stated that the US would continue to strengthen its support for the AU-led peace talks.

The parties concurred on the need to further bolster bilateral ties between Ethiopia and the US, according to MoFA.
